The Aluminum is the best Aluminum I have ever heard period.......They should all sound this good. Most I have heard was real scratchy and hard to run, but yours is easy and has great sound to it. The rounded bottom fits my hand perfect. The slightly rounded feels good too. The slate is perfect for tree calls and purrs. I WILL be using them in contests from now on. I ordered a the double sided aluminum/slate from you last week. I really like the call alot. I havent called one in with it yet, but I'm sure its just because I havent gotten on one. Hi Gary,   What a surprise came in the mail today. This is a magnificent call, a top quality glueup, the turning, the laser work, and the finish. You have really come a long way. It's so beautiful I hate to scratch the glass! It's one of the prettiest calls I've ever seen.

                Your package came in the mail yesterday and I want you to know that I have never been more pleased with this call and the three strikers. You really do a fine job - the hand turned strikers are really fine and all the strikers work great on the slate. The corn cob striker is incredible on this slate making it perhaps the best slate and peg that I have ever owned or used and I have about 12 calls of this type. I use a wingbone, box call, and mouth calls a lot. But if I could only have one call and never use another it would be a slate. Gary - I do believe that with the strikers this is best slate call that I have ever used.   I have three slates that I have killed a lot of birds with over the years. I have been at this since I was 22 yrs old and I will 80 next Oct. I get my calls out a few nights each month to keep the edge sharp. I know what a really good call should sound like and yours is perfect. It yelps high and low - makes cutts real good. In short it is better than the three calls I thought were my best  and I have killed alot of birds (over the years) with them. So Gary - there you have it. Thanks for the call of all calls.

Hi Gary, Just wanted to let you know that I have been out and about putting your call to good use.  I Love this thing.  I own alot of fine Pot calls and I can honestly say I like this one the best.  This year I decided to travel light.  So I went through all my Pot calls.  Out of some 50 that I own.  I picked out Your Slate call and another callmakers glass.  I NEVER USED the glass call.  I like the Slate better.  Gobblers Love it too.  I will say one thing.  I like the other callmakers striker better.I use yours for really cranking it up.  But strikers are something different than the call itself.  I own several other callmakers calls but that Little Maple Slate of yours in my opinion is my Favorite.  It is the perfect balance of Rasp, Pitch, and Volume.  It screams when you want it too, but it is something else for sweet talking too.  It is not honky, or to thin sounding. I brought along a couple of my box calls too, and as it turned out I killed a 26lb gobbler yesterday.  Using one of my box calls, but I have worked plenty of birds with that little Slate of yours.  I will be hunting in NY state in May and your Slate will be with me.  I will try and send some NY customers your way.

I recently purchased a custom slate call from you. I want you to know that it has quickly come my favorite. My first yelps on it were answered by a thunder of a Louisiana gobbler. Whether it was the call or not it instantly became good luck. That call put an end to that bird as well as a triple bearded public land bird in Louisiana. I have already told several of my buddies how good the call sounds and looks.

I just wanted to Thank You again for the slate call I got from you!  I now have over 40" of beard  (one triple beard) from my first two turkeys that I harvested using your call.  It is definitley my go to call and am so glad you took the time to help me with the call.  Not bad for someone who has never hardly ever touched a slate before! 

I contacted you last year because I did a Mobile Calls thing with the Primos Chat Forum and sent you some pictures. Well this year I recieved another one of your calls and was able to take two longbeards with it in the short time that I had it.  My father and I both harvested birds with it on a gorgeous afternoon and I was able to some good pictures. Thank you so much for the wonderful call, you truly have a gift and I cant express how much I have enjoyed using your calls thes last two years.
